St. Dunstan's

Petty-Madden Organ

Built by the Petty-Madden Organ Company of Hopewell, NJ in 1987 our mechanical-action organ has thirteen ranks and eleven stops. Its free-standing, painted case is trimmed with Honduras mahogany. There are two manuals of 56 notes each; the concave 32-note pedalboard has sharps covered with ebony and naturals of mahogany. Stop knobs, radiating horizontally from Manual I, are ebony with hand-painted porcelain stop name plates.

The highly polished fascade pipes are part of the 8' principal on Manual I. The remaining Manual I pipes are on the upper level immediately behind the 8' principal fascade pipes. The pipes for Manual II are enclosed behind the Manual I pipes. The pedal division pipes are located on the lower level inside the case with the exception of the largest ten pipes which are located behind the case.

The manual divisions operate with a 50 mm. wind pressure and the pedal division operates with a 60mm. wind pressure. The tremulant affects both manual divisions. The couplers are activated by pedal levers.
